Aries Season, Spring Equinox & Aries New Moon!

Aries Season is Here! March 21 to April 19

Not only are we beginning a new astrological calendar, but we are also at the Spring Equinox and the Aries New Moon!

All new beginnings!

Aries is the first sign of the astrological wheel. This sign represents assertiveness, courage, carefree, directness, feeling energetic, enterprising, a period of power and self-confidence as well as a period where we are ready for the next moment.

Aries is a cardinal fire sign. Cardinal signs represent the beginning of a season, in this case the season of spring. This cardinal energy gets us motivated and brings our ambitions to the forefront. Fire signs like Aries are known to go after what they want to accomplish with fierce intensity, passion, and creativity. It is also a time where we may find ourselves being a bit more impatient or impulsive.

Special Time of Year

Before we dive into what healing we should focus on during Aries season, here are some ways you can take advantage of the energy of the moment.

Spring Equinox

March 20, 2023

At the Spring Equinox, we can think of this time of the year as the time when we plant seeds for the new astrological year. Things like setting goals for the next six months and setting intentions to execute those goals, hopes, desires, and dreams with clarity and conviction. It is a time to release any lingering tensions from the past and embrace inner peace and balance. We can also learn to accept the lessons learned so far with deep gratitude.

This is a new beginning that can allow you to put your trust in the intervention of the Universe to guide you towards manifesting the life you desire by letting go of all resistance to receive (like thinking “yeah I want it, but HOW am I going to get it”) and trusting that the unfolding of your manifestations is divinely timed. During this time, remember as often as you can to ground, align and center so that you can be at peace in the present moment.

New Moon in Aries

March 21, 2023

This new moon goes hand in hand with the Spring Equinox and setting intentions for your desires. What would like to see manifest in your life in the next six months? Keep this list somewhere safe so you can refer back to it when the Fall Equinox comes around and you can take stock of where your intentions have led you. This new moon in Aries is ruled by Mars, and it is a fiery energy. You will feel very energized in these first few weeks of the Aries cycle especially because Mars is in Gemini right now. Mars in Gemini has the feeling lots of mental energy which is great for planning out how you will go about paving the way and co-creating with the Universe to manifest your desires. So, take advantage of this new energy.

The cardinal energy of the new moon in Aries on March 20th and 21st is a great time to set intentions and goals for what we want to accomplish in 2023 because this energy is the push that we need to get things started to move towards achieving our goals. The new moon energy can be taken advantage of the two to three days before the new moon and the two to three days after it.

Now, let’s talk about the one attribute under this sign that I believe may need emotional healing during the Aries season: Impatience.

We may or may not consider ourselves as impatient, but at one point in our lives or another, we may experience impatience. Either with a friend or loved one who doesn’t fulfill a promise they made or meet an expectation we may have, or even impatience with ourselves because we are either unable or unwilling to commit to something that we expect of ourselves. As a fire sign myself, I can relate!

Impatience can either save your life or ruin it depending on the situation. Impatience can also cloud our judgment and create a level of mental and emotional instability. While this season is all about pointing our focus toward our goals and how we are going to get them done, we have to remember to be kind to ourselves in the process when we are not able to meet our own expectations.

Healing Journal Prompts

Here are a few journal prompt ideas to get you started:

Goal Setting

What are my goals for 2023?

Grab a calendar and set realistic mini goals that will help you reach the real goal.

Purpose

What is the purpose of this/these goals?

How will reaching these goals make me feel?

And are they goals that will make me feel proud of having achieved them?

Allowing Space

Can I be forgiving with myself?

If not, what am I willing to do to ease any mental or emotional anguish created by not meeting a goal?

Patience

Where can I be more patient with myself, my goals, and with others?

The point of this journaling exercise is to identify (a) what are the goals you would like to accomplish that will fill you with joy; (b) how can you plan your year to make the final goals more attainable; and (c) are you able to forgive yourself for the times when life, illness or other circumstances prevent you from reaching mini or major goals.

When we are not forgiving of ourselves, we can create negative mental and emotional energy. This energy can cloud our judgment and our perception of the world around us. We have to be careful of not placing blame where it does not belong, we can learn to be more accepting of outcomes even if they aren't what we had hoped for.

Remember the Universe doesn't always give you what you want, but it always gives you what you need!

Aries season creates mental activity that has the expectation that we take action. Decisions backed by movement and solutions. Not being able to accomplish things during this time can make us impatient, short-tempered, and angry if our needs or expectations are not met. Where can we be more patient with ourselves and others? Self-care Tips and Practices to help you heal emotionally from the Impatience

During Aries season the areas of health to focus on are the head, brain, muscular system, the blood and adrenals.

Self-care wellness treatments you can enjoy during this season are Shirodhara, an Ayurvedic healing treatment focused on the Aries-ruled head; Craniosacral therapy, a very gentle form of body work focuses on relieving tension and enhances the circulation of cerebrospinal fluid; and Moxibustion, which is similar to acupuncture but is non-invasive which is known to stimulate the circulation of blood as well as the vital life force energy known as chi. I also recommend doing a walking meditation, practicing some type of martial arts, or working with fiery crafts.
